Before The Three

"Chapter Three - The Rogue"

After several weeks training Ehrung and Anfang, the three traveled to the land of Pumpkin Hills in a nearby village near New Xectros, Vilith. There they must search for their next recruit and keep an eye out for those of Neonian forces. The three wore that of ragged cloaks, hiding their faces in the shadows as they traveled through the city and enter the local tavern to focus on their plan for the new recruit. "So, what's the plan to getting...what was his name again?" Ehrung whispered. "Frieden, a once Neonian civilian Mobian who used to live in the city but was pulled into a conspiracy and was banished to the forest. As the rumors say, he survived and is now becoming a thorn to the Neonian Empire by killing some of the local scouts as well as several guards posted in certain areas." Lira replied.

"So how do we find him?" Anfang asked. "We don't find him, he finds us to be exact. In order for him to find us we'll need to find a Neonian patrol in the forest and lead them to one of the key points of the forest. With luck, Frieden will be close by and hopefully we can convince him to join us." said Lira as she pulls out a small map of Pumpkin Hills and circles out key points on the map. "Okay, but what if he doesn't come?" Ehrung asked. "Don't worry, if I read his information correctly, he wont resist striking down another Neonian soldier." Their conversation was later interrupted by a Neonian guard slamming his fists on the table. "Well, you three look rather suspicious then." said the Neonian guard, they could smell the alcohol from his breath. "We don't want any trouble sir, just leave us be." said Ehrung. "Oh really, like what are you going to do about-" and before the guard knew it, Anfang grabbed the guards head and slammed it onto the table and punched him across the face, removing the face plate that was attached to the helmet. The guard collapsed onto a crowd of civilians and thus brought attention to the other guards, drawing out their weapons and causing Anfang and Ehrung to draw out their weapons as Lira readies her magic.

"So much for keeping a low profile. You two follow my lead." Lira said as she runs towards the guards and paralyze those she crossed and flees, having Anfang and Ehrung to follow. The guards soon gave chase and followed them to the forest. Without the guards awareness, the three led them through the forest through several key locations to where Frieden would appear, only to be surrounded at the end. "Well this isn't good." Lira stated. "It's just a few guards, we can take them." Ehrung responded. "Lets see what they got!" said Anfang as he rushed towards one of them and cut them down, only to counter block the next attack from the other guard. Ehrung used his telekinetic abilities to pick up the dead guards weapons and used them to defend himself and his team. Meanwhile Lira was casting numerous spells from fireballs, ice spells and disarming spells alike. But the guards kept coming, they were almost subdued until three of the guards were shot through the eye slits by incoming arrows, and soon after more arrows began to fire from both sides, striking down the Neonian guards three by five, five by seven until the last one was slain.

From a distance, a black hedgehog leaped out from the trees and landed safely onto the ground. "Are you three alright" said the black hedgehog. "You must be Frieden I presume." Anfang said. "That's my name, yes. Are you three rebels per chance, you don't exactly look the part to be escaped refugees or slaves. "No, we're here to find you and hope that you can join our cause to defeat that of Neon Blacklight. We would really appreciate your help in the fight." said Ehrung. "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not interesting in being in a group." said Frieden. "Frieden, I dont think you understand the situation that we are in, we need you." said Lira. "The people of this village need me more, I cant just leave them under the influence of that corruption of an Empire. I worked too hard to fight for those people's freedom and I wont let it go to waste." Frieden said. "What if we help you fight for these people's freedom? Will you help us then?" Anfang said. "If you are to manage to move these people to a new and safer location away from the Neonian's then perhaps I can assist you." Frieden said. "I know a good location, it's a far off distance but I know a few people that can get those people to safety. I just need some time and a lot of energy to pull it off." Ehrung suggest. "Very well, but please hurry. I dont believe we have gone unnoticed." Lira said.

Meanwhile, at the Blackthorn Castle. Neon looked through his global map and marking it until a guard stumbles into his study. "Sire, there is an emergency!" the guard shouted. "What is it to make you disturb me while I'm busy?" Neon asked. "There's a group of rebels nearby the village of Vilith." "So, that's nothing new?" "Yes your highness, but reports speculate that one of the rebels appears to be that of Lira the Traitor." "...Lira...are you sure?" Neon raised an eyebrow as she instantly stopped working. "It's a ninety percent match of the culprit, pink hedgehog, green eyes, uses variations of magic. And she appears to have two accomplices as well, a Blue Hedgehog with one scar on his face with miscolored eyes, and a White hedgehog." Neon just rubbed his chin and collected his thoughts. "And you are certain that all of this is true?" Neon asked. "Yes your majesty, I would never send you a false report if it were so." Neon stood up from his desk and walked to the window and responded. "I want scouts stationed at seventy five percent key locations of the village rooftops armed with the best militia bows and barbed arrows, a one hundred and fifty percent increase on patrols and I want a curfew of nineteen hours at night as well as all doors to remained locked. I also want to post a bounty on these...rebels heads, Five Gold Pyres or Fifty Thousand Rings if you wish placed on their heads." Neon ordered. "Yes your majesty. Anything else you wish?" "Yes, inform my children for a meeting, I wish to discuss a few things with them."

Later that night, security was up and raised in the village as Ehrung and Frieden stealthily moves around the village and regroup with the rest. "Okay, I managed to get several people in, when we're ready we'll be set to leave." "What's with all the security, I mean I've seen Neon used this kind of security for serious threats but for just a few rebels?" Frieden wondered. "It's because of me, that's why. Neon somehow still finds me as a threat and wishes for me to die. But he cannot capture me what so ever, if he does then all of this is for nothing." Lira stated. "Very well, so Ehrung what do you need to do now?" Anfang asked. "Well thanks to Frieden and those he trusted, I manage to give the people several sigil stones I kept while in the military and with that, I'll be able to not only teleport us but them to a much more safe and distant location. Although with all these sigil stones scattered around and in such a big area, I'll need some time to get everything ready." Ehrung said as he gave Lira, Frieden and Anfang their own sigil stones.

With that, Ehrung sat down and closes his eyes, concentrating on the sigil stones and focusing on where they wanted to go, and in a large light bluish flash the group and everyone who had the sigil stones vanished and reappeared in that of South Island. The group collapsed onto the ground along with everyone who was teleported as Anfang was at the edge of vomiting. "Okay, new life rule, never teleport on a full stomach." Ehrung just laughed and replied "Sorry there, I probably should of warned you there." "You think!" shouted Anfang. "Where are we?" Frieden asked. "We're that of South Island nearby the Acorn Kingdom. I thought with their help they can help these people find a better place here." Ehrung said. "Good, that's just where we needed to go anyways. Come with me" said Lira. She led the three to a large tree where she pulled down a branch and showed them a secret passage to a spiral staircase. There she led them down the stairs and into a large room filled with weapon plaques, armor stands, several rooms and so on. As they stood in awe, a man in black and gold trimmed armor comes up from behind a corner and said to them "Welcome to your new home boys, the name, is Alen."
Now with three recruits, Lira and her group gets ready to build their army as Neon grows cautious of their every move.
